This I Believe
By: Sophie Flynn I believe you should always live your life to the fullest. On October 30th 2016 I was woken up at 2:09am, with my mom telling me “get up your Dad can’t breathe, we need to take him to the emergency room.” I could feel my heart sink to my stomach. I had no clue what was going to happen to him. The next thing I know I go downstairs and I wait for my parents. I heard them coming down the stairs then I heard a thump. I get up to see what it was and i realize my dad fell down the stairs because he was too weak to walk. We soon got into the car and drove to Rex hospital. We walked in and filled out some forms to admit my dad. I could feel the nerves building up as if I was going to explode. Soon enough my dad was laying in bed resting. I saw a flow of doctors going in and out of his room. The nerves built up as time went on. The next morning after all tests had been completed we met with the doctors. They told us a lot of things about my dad. If I’m being honest the words went through one ear and out the other. My mom explained to me that his body thought that his intestines were his esophagus. We both sighed in relief. It had been a long day so mom and I drove home and went to bed. I missed my dad, the bright, fun, and happy side. Recently all I had seen was a tired, weak, and pained side. We went back to the hospital the next morning. I saw my dad and he was back to his normal self. I was bubbling over with excitement. The doctors told us he’s ready to go home. They gave him his meds and sent him off. We took him home and it was as if nothing had ever happened. We got home and we walked the dog and had dinner. Everything ended up being fine and everyone was relieved. He soon got to do the things he always wanted to do, for example run for senate, help build campaigns, and design houses. In conclusion I believe you should live your life to the fullest because you never know what’s next. My dad was lucky and recovered. But if you don’t live your life to the fullest you might regret not doing the things you always wanted to do
